There are differences between Western psychiatry and Eastern psychiatry in history, ideation and practice. Some confusion becomes barriers in international communication and understanding. The speaker is trying to clarify some of important factors for the differences. Traditional Chinese Medicine, psychoanalysis, immigration mental health service, classification of mental disorders and tools developed in trans-cultural Psychiatry and Psychotherapy research were discussed by the speakers of the symposia.
