Li Dazhao’s Historical Contribution to China’s Social Modernization Zhang Jingru In 1989, when Li Dazhao’s 100th birthday, I published “Li Dazhao and Modern Consciousness” in “Journal of Beijing Normal University.” In the article, I put forward: "To measure the role of modern Chinese historical figures, we should examine the strength of their awareness of modernization, and examine their contribution to the process of modernizing the passive society into an active social modernization process
