Holistic tourism is a completely new concept of tourism industry till now.It is overall view and full coverage of tourism industry,and scientific and systematic tourism with resource optimization,space order,rich products and developed industry.Ordos has unique regional advantages and special natural landscape,and is one of regions with the most complete traditional culture,custom and etiquette of the Mongol nationality.With the transformation of economic development mode,holistic tourism has become powerful factor for Ordos.to transform and update.In 2016,Ordos was officially listed as holistic tourism domenstration area.Ordos will develop 111 key tourism projects for the holistic tourism in 2017.Based on the current situation of tourism in Ordos,this paper illustrates the problems in the process of region-based tourism development in Ordos,with related measures.The content includes four parts.Firstly,it is introduction,simply showing research background,domestic and foreign research situation,research content,methodology of holistic tourism,as well as innovation and limitations.Secondly,it analyzes the concept of holistic tourism and the confusing aspects between holistic tourism and traditional tourism,with the analysis on the importance of holistic tourism developed in Ordos through SWOT.Thirdly,it explores the situation that Ordos promotes holistic tourism,with illustration of basic situation,existing problems and reasons of holistic tourism from the aspects of industry cooperation development,integration of policy and resource,standard unification,etc.Fourthly,concrete development measures are put forward for the above problems,mainly including constant promoting of "integration of multiple policies","innovative development of ’1+3+X" mode,and constructing unifed standard system,etc.
