The intention of this work is to give a clear perspective of how two cultures than at first sight may seem opposite the one to the other in relation to how they perceive the figure of authority and their relationship with it,may be more closely related than a first perception think. The importance of this work is that it will bring together two cultures that the author thinks are not that different, coming to a new understanding on the both of them.On one hand, the Chinese culture that since millennia has had a defined social structure and has changed in few aspects,it seems that almost is barely moldable;but there is definitely a change since the reform of openness in1980.And on the other hand,Mexico, which is a country with different backgrounds, still trying to define itself;but with a clear idea of what the authority figure stands for and their relationship with it. The main proposal of this work is to gather information, analyze it to answer the question of how two distant cultures(both in distance and cultural background)can be similar as the author of this thesis sees it. China and Mexico shares a unique political system that is based on one figure of authority which dictates policies, and although one president does not stay in power for over a10or6years term, one thing continues throughout each term that is the Political Party. In China, they only have the Chinese Communist Party(CCP),the lack of other parties that participates in the search for power and deliberation of Public Policies makes it easier for China to come to agreements. In Mexico there are several actors,or Political Parties, that participate in a democratic contest to rule,in reality there has been only one Political Party that has ruled for over more than80years,some of them with more resistance than others, but still with a vast majority of public representatives which makes it similar with the Chinese system. Furthermore, the most important figure in the political scene in both countries is one person:the President. Both countries share a"Presidentialist"system, which means that the Head of State is the one to tum over to Congress Reforms,or Public Policies. This system is supported by the strong force that represents their Political Party, the CCP in China and the Institutional Revolutionary Party(PRI,in Spanish)in Mexico. The methodology the author will use in this thesis is focused on the public opinion of the President in both countries, which will lead to the necessity of doing questionnaires in order to gather the proper information that will lead to the analysis and conclusion of this thesis.Observation is a crucial aspect for the research of this thesis, because it is the basic form of acquiring knowledge and getting information of how both societies act.Beyond this aspect, the author also thinks that questionnaires may also be of relative importance to acquire information, and after analyzing it give some different or new perspectives of what both societies relate to the figure of authority in2017.By doing so,the final analysis will bring up a closeness between two cultures that are unique, far from each other, but with similarities despite the distance, different language and cosmogony. It is also important to bring up the necessity of using at least two theories that are going to be involved in this work:Political Culture and Comparative Politics.
