INTRODUCTIONrnOral cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the head and neck region, and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common pathological type of oral cancer.1 Approximately one hundred thousand new OSCC patients are diagnosed worldwide every year.2 The main treatment for OSCC is combination therapy, including surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. The 5-year survival rate of early-stage patients is～55％-60％, while the rate of late-stage patients is only 30％-40％.3-4 The overall survival of OSCC patients has not changed significantly in the last few decades.5 Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the molecular mechanisms of the devel-opment of oral cancer and strive for a new breakthrough in the study of OSCC diagnosis and treatment.
