2013年12月的大学英语六级考试中新增的段落翻译题型内容均与中国文化紧密相连。据媒体的初步调查,考生对翻译的作答不尽如人意。此现象揭示了现行的大学专业英语教学的不足。旅游英语,作为培养中国旅游文化传播使者的重要工具,其教学改革势在必行。作者结合教学经验,分析旅游英语教学中存在的问题,并提出关于注重文化素质的培养,提高学生的翻译能力等的思考。
The new Paragraph Translation content in the CET6 in December 2013 is closely linked to Chinese culture. According to preliminary media investigations, candidates’ answers to translations are not satisfactory. This phenomenon reveals the current lack of professional English teaching in universities. Tourism English, as an important tool for cultivating the disseminator of Chinese tourism culture, is imperative for its teaching reform. The author combines the teaching experience to analyze the problems in the teaching of tourism English, and puts forward the thinking of focusing on the cultivation of cultural quality and improving the students’ translation ability.
