用PowerPoint制作多媒体课件的最大优势是简单易学、容易掌握。此外，PowerPoint在多媒体支持、人性化的视图模式、课件素材等方面都具备快速制作多媒体课件的强大优势。但在制作课件时常需要借助很多动态影像素材，而PowerPoint本身所提供的插入影片和声音，在影片播放时不能随心所欲地灵活控制；教师在讲课时有时需要在播放过程中进行讲解，而PowerPoint本身却不直接具备这一功能。然而这些局限可以通过插入控件的方法来解决。
1 插入Windows Media Player控件
（1）选择Windows Media Player控件。选择“视图”|“工具栏”，“控件工具箱”命令打开“控件工具箱”，单击上面的“其他控件”命令按钮，在出现的下拉列表框中选择Windows Media Player选项。如图1。

如果想回到原始尺寸播放，可选择右击鼠标弹出快捷菜单，选择退出全屏。
2）设置播放的视频文件尺寸。如果在同一幻灯片中既有视频又有其它文本内容，为了取得更好的播放效果，也可以按照将要播放视频对象的原始尺寸进行设置。在其“属性”对话框中，找到Height 和Width参数项分别设置视频对象的宽和高，修改其数值，达到满意效果。
