书法之趣是书法家将日常生活中产生的审美感受和审美体验经过自身加工、改造而熔铸于笔端的一种情调,书法之趣一方面体现于作品的表面形式之中,它是我们用肉眼能够直接观察和体验到的,主要包括章法之趣、笔法之趣、字法之趣以及墨法之趣。书法之趣的另一方面还体现在作品的内涵意蕴之中。而对于这种趣味,欣赏者只有通过书法作品外在的形式才能感受到作品内在的、精神上的意趣。书法之趣能使作品变得更加丰富多彩、韵味悠长,但若处理不当,也会使作品的格调大打折扣。
