INTRODUCTION RCC is initially considered to have focused on the major advantages of both concrete dams (constructed of erosion resistant materials, small cross sections) and filling dams (high levels of mechanical equipment use and rapid construction methods). By the late 1960s, ordinary concrete dams were not as economical as filling dams, especially as rockfill dams were economical.
