Singapore is a tropical country with a monsoon climate leading to abundant rainfall with an average annual rainfall of about 2,400 millimeters above the world average of 1,050 millimeters. Even in the rainy season, water and waterlogging are rare in cities, thanks to a scientifically designed and well-planned rainwater harvesting and drainage system that combines low impact development facilities. The domestic water resources situation in Singapore is very grim. Because it is an island nation, the island lacks large deep rivers, rainfall resources can not be preserved, and only can meet about 20% of the water demand. Singapore’s per capita share of water resources in the world ranked last
