在以小说创作为主的艺术世界中,普拉东诺夫借助塑造形象、勾勒情节、确立主题和描绘人物的心理体验与感受等艺术手法,延续、演绎并升华了早年的自然哲学思想。一方面,作家借助科技情节和主题,既再现了人类征服和控制自然的乌托邦梦想,也表达了对人类掠夺和破坏自然的怀疑与批判;另一方面,作家通过塑造自然是人的生命之母和情爱之源这两个形象,强调融入和回归自然、重返人类精神的伊甸园,才能求得人的最高存在意义。受“十月革命”前后多种新旧世界观念和哲学思想的影响,以及在复杂而矛盾创作语境的制约下,普拉东诺夫的自然哲学思想呈现出二元悖论式特征,进而导致其创作思想的复杂矛盾性。
