Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is an emerging area of application that opens new markets for a range of tools to provide a safer, greener driving experience. One of the factors driving this area is the wireless communication between car-to-car (C2C) and car-to-car infrastructure (C2I). Broadcasting and receiving car position and speed information allows the car to build a dynamic model of the surroundings. Information from industry consortia such as the Car-to-Car Communications Alliance and CAMP shows that the world is now aggressively developing this field, embarking on projects and setting standards.
