Objective To investigate the influence of interpersonal relationship and role type on college students’ favorability, attribution process, liability inference and emotion change. Methods According to Li Xiaowei’s self-made school punishment scene adaptation questionnaire in 2006, the response of 120 subjects was measured by using likert 7-point scale through role playing. Results An analysis of variance at external attribution dimensions showed that people tended to have external attribution to their friends, competitors tended to internal attribution, and strangers were centered (F = 7.959, P <0.05). In the analysis of variance of internal attribution dimension, the main effect of interpersonal relationship (F = 9.744, P <0.001) and interaction with role type were significant (F = 3.401, P <0.05). Variance analysis on the emotional changes, friends, the greatest difference between the degree of goodwill, strangers in the center, the smallest competitors. The difference between friends and competitors was significant (F = 4.410, P <0.05). Conclusion Different interpersonal relationships and role types have significant effects on the attributional location and emotional changes.
