2005 was the 200th anniversary of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen, the world’s most famous Danes and writer. The commemorative events took place in Denmark and around the world. This year became a cultural year devoted to Andersen. The purpose of the commemorative event is very clear, that is, to allow as many people as possible, both in Denmark and abroad, regardless of children or adults, to have a more in-depth and detailed understanding of Andersen. For most of us, Andersen is an inner childhood favorite memory, and we rarely think about it after we become adults. Of course, many people are familiar with these fairy tales, such as “The Ugly Duckling”, “The Emperor’s New Clothes” and “Clumsy Hans,” but in fact Andersen not only writes fairy tales, he also has many other works: autobiography, fiction , drama, poetry, and travel notes. His works are not only for children but also for adults. Therefore, today, his works are still the source of inexhaustible inspiration and new creations.
