贯叶连翘Hypericum perforatum不同部位中总金丝桃素含量差异最大(0.001%~0.114%),不同产地和不同物候期差异较小。同属13种植物地上部分总金丝桃素在金丝桃组、黄海棠组和地耳草组等4个种未检出;在遍地金组2个种中量微(0.020~0.027%);而在糙枝金丝桃组和贯叶连翘组等7个种中较多(0.024%~0.095%)。总金丝桃素在体内分布可能与金丝桃属植物体腺点类型及发育状况相关,似可作为系统分类的参考。
