The progress of history in the 20th century has been largely reflected in the reference and integration of history with other humanities and social sciences. The new historiography of the Yearbook School of French Annals embodies the integration of history and humanities and social sciences, especially the combination of history and anthropology, and constitutes the significant academic characteristics of Yearbook School. The current historical anthropology and closely related with the micro-historiography are popular in academic circles in various countries in the world, embodies the new trend of academic research. Anthropology emphasizes fields, while history emphasizes literature. However, historical studies or anthropology alone are obviously not enough in the study of ancient history related to diachronic phenomena. Most of the historical documents present a state or fragment at that time, and its evolution needs to go into the field of history. This group of articles published in this issue is a special discussion on the history of the ancient history that has entered into historical fields and uses anthropological methods and field data. It is hoped that this group of thematic discussions will not only deepen the study of ancient history, but also establish the methodology of historical research , Especially the multiple evidence method, can all be helpful.
