作为当代美国印第安文学领军人物之一,路易斯·厄德里克以精致复杂的叙述技巧和对美国印第安文化元素的杂糅运用受到了广大读者及评论界的青睐。获得2012美国国家图书奖的《圆屋》,作为厄德里克新的创作尝试,展示了她对口述传统的叙述结构、部落文化和印第安文化元素的新的发掘和阐释。在当代美国印第安文学的发展中,她的作品中凸显的语言意识、多重叙述、身份重塑以及鲜明的印第安特征等元素在众多文本中独树一帜,在融合了西方现代文学手法的基础上,将印第安口述文学的精髓在文本中继续传承。本文作为国内首篇美国印第安作家专访,介绍了印第安部族意识、自然观、宗教意识对路易斯·厄德里克创作的影响以及作者对印第安奥吉布瓦部落文化的传承。
As one of the leaders of contemporary American Indian literature, Luis Erdrich favored readers and critics with elaborate and complex narrative techniques and the blending of elements of American Indian culture. The “Round House”, winner of the 2012 American National Book Award, as Herderick’s new creative attempt demonstrates her new exploration and interpretation of the oral narrative structure, tribal culture and Indian cultural elements. In the development of contemporary American Indian literature, the elements such as language awareness, multiple narration, identity reconstruction and distinctive Indian characteristics highlighted in her works are unique in many texts. Based on the integration of western modern literature, Indian elements The essence of oral literature continues in the text. This article, as the first interview with American Indian writers in China, introduces the influence of Indian tribal consciousness, natural concept and religious awareness on Luis Erdrich’s creation and the author’s heritage of Indian Ojibwa tribal culture.
