In his dissertation Discourse,Figure based on Freudianism,Lyotard deals with the relations of figure and discourse,emphasizing that the visible figures are more important than the reasonable discourses,and declaring the decline of Husserlian phenomenology and Merleau-Pontian phenomenology,in order to reject modern philosophers’rationalistic terrorism that pursues unanimity and unity,and then paves the way for his explanation of his postmodernist doctrines in Libidinal Economy,The Postmodern Condition and The Differend.However,Lyotard walks into the radical naturalism and naive empiricism while moving away from modern philosophy’s rationalistic metaphysics.
