The importance of electric heating for heavy oil collection is expounded. Two methods are proposed to increase the electric heating efficiency of heavy oil, such as non-linear resistive cable and electric heating frequency increasing. Insulating bipolar transistors (IGBTs) and amorphous Transformers and other successful development of 100kVA 200Hz special inverter, the implementation of a highly efficient electric heating method, made the best energy-saving effect
