勿庸置疑,早在佛教传入中原之前很久,灯节最核心的因素已经存在。宋人开始把上元张灯与周代的庭燎相联系,近代学者多有响应。最近,曹飞先生对此论提出驳议,认为元宵节的狂欢功能与燎祭、庭燎的祭祀功能完全不同,1可备一说。然而笔者认为,从祭祀到娱乐并没有一条不可跨越的鸿沟。灯节最早的源头,也许可以上溯到远古的巫术。
Needless to say, long before the introduction of Buddhism into the Central Plains, the most central element of the festival of lights already exists. The Song Dynasty began to link the Shang Dynasty Yuan Dynasty lanterns with the Zhou Dynasty Liaoyuan, modern scholars more responsive. Recently, Mr. Cao Fei made a disagreement on this theory, believing that the carnival function of the Lantern Festival is completely different from the sacrificial offering of the Liao Festival and the Court Liaoyuan. However, in my opinion, there is not an insurmountable gap between ritual and entertainment. The earliest source of the Lantern Festival, perhaps dating back to ancient witchcraft.
