作为当代中国具有广泛影响的哲学家,却始终拒绝承认自己的“哲学家”地位,这是汤一介先生留给我们的一个难题。我们需要郑重地面对这个难题,认识到汤先生思想的基本底蕴是平正的理性精神,而唯物辩证法的系统接受则决定了汤先生的思考方向。汤先生尝试将传统及现代思想整合进一个综合的系统当中,且一直关注体系化哲学的建构,但又未采取体系化哲学的写作方式:这一方面是因为他抱有对于体系化写作的流弊的顾虑,另一方面还源于汤先生在最后几年里开始深入思考如何从中国传统哲学中生发出人类普遍价值的问题,而这又和他创建真正的中国解释学的探索紧密相关。总之,汤先生的思想是诠释的、体系化的系统综合,尽管这一思想的综合并未完成,却给后来的思想者指出了明确的方向。
As a philosopher with a wide-ranging influence in contemporary China, he has always refused to recognize his status as a “philosopher,” a conundrum Tom has left behind for us. We need to deal with this difficult issue solemnly. We must recognize that the basic connotation of Mr. Tang’s thought is a just and rational spirit. The systematic acceptance of materialist dialectics determines Mr. Tang’s thinking. Mr. Tang tried to integrate traditional and modern ideas into a comprehensive system, and he always paid attention to the construction of systematic philosophy but did not adopt the method of systematic philosophy: on the one hand, he had the drawbacks of systematic writing On the other hand, it also stems from the fact that Mr. Tang began thinking deeply about how to emerge the universal value of human beings from Chinese traditional philosophy in the last few years, which is closely related to his exploration of creating a true Chinese hermeneutics. In a word, Mr. Tang’s thinking is an interpreted and systematic systematic synthesis. Although the synthesis of this thought has not been completed yet, it has given the later thinkers a clear direction.
