“Dark Heart” is a narrative written by Conrad Mallow and based on his experience in the Congo in 1890, which tells the story of Marlowe’s exploration of Africa. Only the narrator Marlow himself and Marlowe often heard of “celebrity” Kurz in the process of expedition, and several women who met before and after Malo adventure. However, these women have some outstanding personality traits, leaving a deep impression on them. And through the comparative analysis of their images, we can also glimpse Conrad’s attitude toward colonialism.
