As a traditional festival celebrating harvesting and sacrificing ancestors, the “Muggle” festival has always played a key role in the Kho-man community in pinpointing a beautiful vision, integrating interpersonal relationships and governing rural communities. In the process of modernization, with the exacerbation of exchanges and interactions with the neighboring ethnic groups and regions, the Khuki population with a small population inevitably faces a strong squeeze of foreign cultures and a tremendous cultural change has taken place inside them. Under such circumstance, in order to strengthen the consciousness of ethnic subjectivity, the festival with the theme of celebrating harvest has been transformed in function, and has become an important means of gathering people together and identifying themselves. Through the analysis of “Maggie”, we can have a glimpse of the living conditions and tactics of Kemu people in modern society and reflect on the subjectivity of ethnic minorities in the process of modernization.
