【Abstract】This study sought to （a） identify the factors to graduate students who want to quickly become an experienced engineer. This paper introduce the difference between the units and jobs ，then tell the readers what is and how to be an EMC engineer. At last the perception dimensions identified provide a framework useable for student who search for a job.

1. Introduction

　　Reference to EMC， most people will associate with Electron Machine Corporation Company who’s short name is EMC company. But in testing field EMC lab is a laboratory working for products manufacturing and dealing with high quality products which should test under emission environment or to verify the emission from products are safety for other electric products. So the EMC engineer is working for it. If you interesting in this job and aspiration in calibration or testing， this paper will give you some useful skills and advices.

2. Know more， learn more

　　Every engineers firstly should know IEEE which full name is Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers， also you can use IEEE Xplore Digital Library to get help or search new inventions. Of cause the web is an all-English website. So how to master the knowledge and skills of using English tools is still a key issue that we need to pay attention to in English learning in school.
　　Before you chose your job or even your own career， you should know what and how the institute do. Such as our department is a third-party EMC testing laboratory and based on ISO/IEC 17025：2005 depend on Shanghai Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology which is a big platform has more than ten different calibration and testing units. We have Semi-Anechoic Chamber（SAC）and Fully Anechoic Chambers （FAC） etc（Fig. 1）. I think this professional knowledge will help you be employed in preference.

　　Different companies have different advantages in distinction. Our department support our members do research during or after working. If you like track front or write papers from your skills from the daily work， I think public institution is appropriate for you. We have special research team for you， and you can find more partners. People in private enterprises often work fast and make more attention on work， so they have less time do other things. 　　First job is very important in career what affects both your life. So know more can help you do right chose.

3. preparation for work as an engineer

　　An EMC lab engineer better should have professional background which major closely related to Electrical that will help you quickly integrate into the department.
　　Our work related to human factors in causing error has originated from life where mistakes can be catastrophic not only for those who contribute to the error， but for person as well. Because our samples like microwave ovens， printers， metro gates and so on are always use in peoples life（Fig. 2）. It is very important to be cautious when test and make report for customers or government.
