In order to maintain the regional balance of world heritage and to encourage countries and regions without world heritage to join the declaration, since 2001, for countries with World Heritage sites, the World Heritage Committee accepts in principle only one declaration. Faced with this new situation, China adjusted its declaration policy on World Heritage sites and declared the same type of sites or relics as one and the same World Heritage Site. As a result, China now has a number of royal tombs in the Ming and Qing dynasties and Suzhou Classical Gardens, Heritage World Heritage Site. This approach has also been recognized by UNESCO. At the 28th World Heritage Convention held in Suzhou this year, the Qing Imperial Palace of the People’s Republic of China and the Ming Tombs of the Qing Dynasty in Beijing will be examined separately as an extension of the Imperial Palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the imperial tombs of the Ming and Qing dynasties. In order to successfully enter the ranks of the “World Cultural Heritage”, the local government made a positive effort.
