US Biomedical Electronics Vol. 15, No. 13 (1980) reported that US hospital supply companies are using an electronic device to quickly, safely and inexpensively predict the risk of stroke. This diagnostic tool, called Spectraview, uses a microphone placed in the patient’s neck to detect the vortex of the bloodstream, indicating the narrowing of the artery supplying the brain.
