中日甲午战争后,向西方派遣留学生,已成为当时中国人向西方学习的主要内容。当时中国留学生的主要去向是日本和美国。本文试就清末民初留日活动与留美活动的异同试作比较和评述。一在中国沦为半殖民地半封建社会这个历史背景下,中国学生留日活动和留美活动在其形成与发展中具有如下的共性: 第一,美、日统治者利用近代中国的留学活动,进行其较之于武力侵略更高一层次的“和平”的侵略。
After the Sino-Japanese War of 1894, the dispatch of overseas students to the West had become the main content of Chinese learning from the West at that time. At that time, the main destination of Chinese students was Japan and the United States. This paper tries to compare and comment on the similarities and differences between the activities of going to Japan for the end of the Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China and the activities of going to the United States. First, under the historical background of becoming a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society in China, the Chinese students’ activities in going to Japan and studying in the United States have the following common features in their formation and development: First, the rulers of the United States and Japan took advantage of the study activities in modern China A higher level of “peaceful” aggression than armed aggression.
