现代汉语高频词中单音词占很高比例,而且一个词的使用频率越高,它是单音词的可能性就越大。我们发现,连词中置于句首用于连接小句,充当篇章主位如“可是”“如果”等一类连词不符合这个规律,虽然它们使用频率极高,却有着强烈的双音化倾向,此类高频词中双音词所占比例极高,这主要是由现代汉语双音节音步的韵律特点造成的。另一类不作篇章主位的连词双音化倾向并不显著。
Modern Chinese high frequency words in monosyllabic words account for a high proportion, and the more frequently a word is used, the more likely it is a monosyllable. We find that conjunctions are placed at the beginning of a sentence for the connection of clauses and as a subject of text such as “But ” “If ” and a class of conjunctions do not comply with this law, although they are frequently used, but have a strong Disyllabic tendencies. The proportion of disyllabic words in such high-frequency words is extremely high, which is mainly caused by the rhythmic characteristics of the disyllabic syllabary of modern Chinese. The other type of conjunctions that do not make thematic passages is not significant.
