一、品种来源原名晋汾24号,系山西农科院经作所于1978年以原晋中所的早_1为母本,河北承德所的7005—0—5—1为父本杂交选育而成。1990年,经山西省农作物品种审定委员会第16次会议审定通过,命名为晋谷18号。二、特征幼苗绿色,主茎高平均119.12厘米,穗长平均14.72厘米,穗呈纺锤型,刺毛短,穗码数94.9个,支穗密度6.8个/平方厘米,穗粒重平均9.13克,出谷率83%,千粒重2.99克,谷草比值1:1。黄谷黄米。适口性较好,经省农科院中心化验室分析结果,含粗蛋白11.54%,脂肪4.88%,赖氨酸0.26%。
