The Chinese Academy of Sciences, the State Development Planning Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly announced here that the world-leading Chinese “rice” (indica) genome “work frame map” and database have been completed in China and the data will be released for global gratuitous sharing. This is a major scientific and technological achievement worthy of the pride of the Chinese nation, which has world-class status in the field of life science and is a major contribution made by our scientists to mankind.
