马克·吐温是以幽默作家的身份跻身美国文坛的。他善于运用极度夸张的手法,描写天真的主人公。玩笑中带着辛酸,幽默中含着讽刺。他的嬉笑怒骂背后总让人“带泪地笑”。《哈克贝利·费恩历险记》是马克·吐温最有代表性的一部长篇小说。对这部作品,世人的评价褒贬不一。本文试着从新批评的角度解读马克·吐温的这部代表作,从两个方面:一是哈克的两重心理特征;二是文章所运用的反讽手法,来分析这部小说所表现的社会意义,展现小说中理想与现实之间矛盾的强烈对比。
Mark Twain is a writer of humor in the American literary world. He is good at using extremely exaggerated techniques to describe innocent protagonists. Joke with bitterness, humor in irony. Behind his laughing and scolding always make people “tears smile ”. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is Mark Twain’s most representative novel. The evaluation of people in this work is mixed. This article attempts to interpret Mark Twain’s representative work from the perspective of the new criticism, from two aspects: one is the two psychological characteristics of Huck; the other is the irony used in the article to analyze the society represented by the novel Meaning, showing the strong contrast between the ideal and reality in the novel.
