Stainless steel consumption in the world is increasing year by year and it is estimated that in 2000 it will reach 19 million tons. To this end, the world’s major steel companies are expanding stainless steel production capacity or to seek new development plans. This article introduces the development and application of Kawasaki high purity stainless steel smelting, high speed continuous casting of stainless steel, control rolling of stainless steel hot strip mill and surface inspection of cold rolled steel.
