受控核聚变试验研究是世界级的基础性研究课题,其实际意义和目的在于为人类寻找新的替代能源。极向场电源系统是我国正在建设的重大科学工程项目——HT-7U受控核聚变试验(托卡马克)装置中的主要子系统之一,它为等离子体的产生、约束、维持、加热,以及等离子体电流、位置、形状、分布和破裂的控制,提供必不可少的控制电源。极向场电源系统能否正常运行,对于HT-7U托卡马克装置运行的性能、效率、安全以及物理实验的成败,有着至关重要的作用。
