Trisaponin in ginseng has a strong inhibitory effect on the release of catecholamine (CA) from bovine adrenal medulla cells caused by acetylcholine (ACh), and the effect of diol saponins is weak. After ginsenosides are metabolized in the digestive tract, not only the triols but also the glycols have a strong inhibitory effect on the release of CA.
