This essay attempts to examine the discussion of the relationship between the erotic love and the ceremony in the early Confucian “poetry” studies in the framework of relationship between love and affection. Confucius emphasized the importance of the etiquette form and the quality around the poem “Master.” Later generations borrowed from Confucius’ account of “Guan Yu”, using the erotic feelings as a gift, acknowledging its rationality and requiring some restraint. Chu Bamboo “poem”, silk “Five Elements” are different ways to further control the etiquette to find the inner basis. The discussion of Confucian “poetry” studies incorporates an instinctive affective element into the sphere of ceremony and provides an intrinsic basis and foundation for the construction of ceremony.
