新闻的报道模式与风格总是与其所处的时代息息相关。体育新闻也是如此:20世纪70年代乒乓外交时期,我国的体育新闻报道有意识地强调“友谊第一,比赛第二”的竞技宗旨;80年代当女排五连冠、洛杉矶奥运会等体育盛事成为体育新闻热点时,报道又力求突出“为国争光”的政治热情;90年代以来,在经济结构转型的大气候和体育产业化发展的小环境共同造就的体育新闻的消费机制中,体育新闻报道模式呈现出前所未有的开放与多元态势,其间出现了一种新的对体育新闻事件进行江湖故事式叙述的趋势。
News coverage patterns and styles are always related to the times they are in.
