北京已有体育场馆1万多个建国初期,北京市的体育场馆很少,近年来,体育场馆增长速度很快。1995年全国第四次体育场地普查,北京市共有各类标准体育场地4618个。其中占地面积2100万平方米,场地面积970万平方米,人均体育场地面积0.86平方米,万人场地个数4。
