The purpose of this article is to show that “role play” is not only useful, but also a very important method of learning a language. Inspired by the theatrical scene, I was profoundly aware that language is a means of conveying information. We learned our mother tongue unconsciously at birth: parents constantly correct mistakes in our language expression and understand our grammatical rules unconsciously in order to make our own expression understandable. Yet when we adults learn the second language, this “childlike” ability to unconsciously learn has diminished as the mind matures. Of course, we can imitate children’s learning of languages to learn the languages of other countries in their own countries. However, this imitation has been hard to achieve its intended purpose. Therefore, “role play” has become another best way to learn languages .
