The analysis of this article shows that this is a piece of work that deserves our full attention. In a sense, we should even consider it a masterpiece of Shitou. It is different from the narrative mode of “leaving-home-returning to hometown” under the vision of enlightenment, and makes a new discussion on the relationship between the intellectual and hometown from a horizonal perspective. It continues the consistent theme of Shitou’s creation, expands it in depth and breadth, and shows another possibility of Shitou’s creation.
