In recent years, we have witnessed the resurgence of social sustainability issues in the construction industry. Once again, architects are beginning to pay attention to the social impact of buildings and to explore the social potential inherent in neglected social responsibilities and architectural disciplines. This discussion of social adaptability, linked to the recession of the early 2000s, has inspired architects to explore new definitions of architecture within a more socially sensitive framework. In this paper, however, we think that to better analyze the social benefits of buildings in the context of Norway, we need to look at the contribution of this profession to the government departments that govern the state-level social infrastructure and their relationship.
