纯石英芯的硅树脂包层纤维,尽管包层材料的损耗非常大,其数值可达1000dB/km,然而这种纤维的传输损耗却非常小,其数值只有几 dB/km。脉冲展宽约为10ns/km,这比根据芯和包层的折射率差计算出的177ns/km 要小得多。这种硅树脂包层纤维具有大约数万个模式。在本文中,我们定量地求出了各种模式的衰减常数和模式之间的耦合系数。在分析为什么脉冲展宽小的原因时,我们把包层材料高次模式的衰减、模式之间的耦合,以及脉冲入射条件等因素分开来考虑,从而弄清楚了这个原因。
Silicone clad fibers of pure silica core, although their loss is very large, can reach a value of 1000 dB / km. However, this fiber has a very low transmission loss of only a few dB / km. Pulse broadening is about 10 ns / km, which is much smaller than 177 ns / km calculated from the difference in refractive index of the core and cladding. This silicone clad fiber has approximately tens of thousands of modes. In this paper, we quantitatively determine the coupling coefficients between various modes of decay constants and modes. In analyzing why the pulse width is small, we figure out this reason by considering factors such as the decay of the high-order modes of the cladding material, the coupling between modes, and the conditions of pulse incidence.
