铝及其合金在国民经济中占有很重要的地位,应用极为广泛。但铝制品的耐蚀性和外观若不经特种工艺处理,是不能满足使用要求的。因此,对铝制品一般要采用氧化或电镀的方法来提高其防护装饰性能。众所周知,欲获得高反射系数的铝制品,除了要机械抛光外,还必须进行化学或电化学抛光。从一九三○年将电解抛光用于铝制品的装饰性阳极氧化工艺以来,到目前为止,在现行工艺中,用得较普遍的电解或化学抛光溶液,一般有下列几种类型的酸溶液:
