对于拥有1300多万居住人口、机动车保有量超过200万辆的北京市来说,“出行难”已经是一个大问题。针对日益拥堵的现状,让更多的人选择公共交通作为出行的主要方式,是解决交通拥堵的关键,“优先发展公共交通”已经成为政府部门和广大市民的共识。所谓“公交优先”,指城市内的客运交通以大容量、快速度的公交系统为主,其他交通工具为辅。据专家测算,一辆中型公共汽车所占的道路面积分别相当干10辆自行车、6辆摩托车、2辆出租车所占面积。从乘载人数上分析,一辆大型公共汽车可代替20辆出租汽车。
