缤纷的五月,是地处辽东半岛东部的凤城市最迷人的季节。漫山盛开的杜鹃花最早把春的气息带到这里, 艳丽的桃花、洁白的梨花余香尚未散尽,槐花的芬芳又继踵而至,真正是水碧山清掩映中,花艳花香沁心脾。今年的五月,让凤城人陶醉的不仅是大自然的清新美丽,还有建市十周年带来的喜悦。公元1994年,是凤城发展史上值得永远铭记的一年。这一年的3月8日, 国务院批准凤城满族自治县撤县建市;同年5月19日,凤城各族人民举行盛大庆典,宣告凤城市成立。

On March 8 of this year, the State Council approved the withdrawal of Fengcheng Manchu Autonomous County from establishing the city; on May 19 of the same year, the people of all ethnic groups in Fengcheng held a grand celebration to announce the founding of Fengcheng City.
