狮子王
君主与父亲的双重身份让木法沙（Mufasa）不僅要教会辛巴（Simba）学会生存（to survive），更要教会他一个国王（king）所要具备的勇敢与责任。在儿子面前，他既是严师又是慈父，用自己的行动为辛巴树立榜样。木法沙深深地爱着儿子辛巴，不惜用自己的生命来挽救（to save）身处险境的儿子。虽然木法沙没能陪伴在辛巴身边看着他成长，但是他所教给辛巴的知识与道理却足以让辛巴受益终生。
（Mufasa thinks silently for a few moments， not looking at his son. Then， finally， he turns to him.）
Mufasa： Simba， I’m very disappointed （失望的） in you.
Simba： （Very quietly and sadly） I know.
Mufasa： （Continuing） You could have been killed. You deliberately（存心，故意） disobeyed me. And what’s worse， you put Nala in danger！
Simba：（Bordering on crying， voice cracks） I was just trying to be brave like you.
Mufasa： I’m only brave when I have to be. Simba… being brave doesn’t mean you go looking for trouble.
Simba： But you’re not scared of anything.
Mufasa： I was today.
Simba： （Disbelieving） You were？
Mufasa： Yes… （bends down close to Simba） I thought I might lose you.
Simba： Oh. （Lightening slightly） I guess even kings get scared （害怕的）， huh？
Mufasa： Mm-hmm.
Simba：（Whispering conspiratorially） But you know what？
Mufasa： （Whispering back） What？
Simba： I think those hyenas（鬣狗） were even scareder.
Mufasa： （Gently laugh） Because nobody can messes with your dad. Come here， you.
Finding Nemo 海底总动员
马林（Marlin）是海底世界里的小人物，没有人关注他。他总是过度紧张和谨慎。在他的生活中没有什么比儿子尼诺（Nemo）更重要（important）的了，所以当儿子被人类捕捞后，这个唯唯诺诺的小丑鱼爆发出惊人的勇气与毅力，在一连串的惊险过后，他终于迎来了与尼诺的相聚时刻。伟大（grandness）往往寓于平凡之中，就像这位父亲对孩子的爱。
Tad： Come on， Nemo. How far can you go？
Nemo： Uh， my dad says it’s not safe.
Marlin： Nemo， no！
Nemo： Dad？
Marlin： You were about to swim into open water！
Nemo： No， I wasn’t out … but dad！
Marlin： It was a good thing I was here. If I hadn’t showed up， I don’t know… Pearl： Sir， he wasn’t gonna go.
Tad： Yeah， he was too afraid.
Nemo： No， I wasn’t.
Marlin： This does not concern you， kids. And you’re lucky I don’t tell your parents you were out there. You know you can’t swim well.
Nemo： I can swim fine， dad， okay？
Marlin： No， it’s not okay. You shouldn’t be anywhere near here.
Okay， I was right.
You’ll start schoolin a year or two.
Nemo： No， dad！
Just because you’re scared of the ocean…
Marlin： Clearly， you’re not ready.
And you’re not coming back until you are. You think you can do these things but you just can’t， Nemo！
Nemo： I hate you.
Brave Heart 勇敢的心
《勇敢的心》中的Malcolm 是一位智慧而勇敢的父亲。13世纪的苏格兰要脱离英格兰的高压统治，争取独立。Malcolm决定去为民族而战，而年幼的儿子William要随他同去。父亲对儿子的想法和举动并没有加以嘲笑或粗暴的否定，而是将儿子作为和自己并肩作战的战士平等对待。“I need you to stay here and look after the place for me while I’m away.”父亲的那句“It’s out wits that make us men.”虽短，却蕴含了深刻的道理，对William后来成为苏格兰的民族英雄起了巨大的作用。
Malcolm： Where do you think you’re going？
William： I’m going with you.
Malcolm： Oh， you’re going with me， are you？ And what are you going to do？
William： I’m gonna help.
Malcolm： Hey， and a good help you’d be， too. But I need you to stay here and look after the place for me while I’m away.
William： I can fight！
Malcolm： I know. I know you can fight. But it’s out wits that make us men. See you tomorrow.
