Xylem, the world’s leading water company, released a new study at the 10th China International Symposium on Urban Water Development, claiming that using existing wastewater treatment technologies to improve energy efficiency can reduce CO2 emissions by half. The study further analyzes and concludes that about 50% of the electricity-related emission reductions can be realized without increasing costs or reducing costs in the three major wastewater treatment industries in the United States, Europe and China under investigation, of which China’s annual reduction of carbon dioxide equivalent Displacement is expected to reach 13 million metric tons. The report, “A New Era of Open Sewage Treatment,” analyzes the energy efficiency of the wastewater industry and reviews the global water treatment industry’s approach to reducing the use of available and proven technologies to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions
