American playwright Susan Glaspell is Pulitzer Prize winner, one of the founders of American modern drama. Edge is considered her most complicated drama, a feminist piece full of contradictions and confusion. This article analyzes three innovative flowers fostered by actress Claire, pointing out that these flowers symbolize the future women of traditional women, contemporary new women, and social strafing women. Flowers reflect the contradictory views of Grasper’s feminism, that is, she advocates more radical feminism than new women on the one hand, and on the other, it alerts the potential risks of extreme feminism.
