《论语》“巧言令色”中的“令”字,通常被训作“善”,但对于“令”字该词义的来源,学术界却并未达成一致意见。本文在研究分析了传统训诂对于“令”的词源的观点之基础上,结合先秦语言实际,认为,训为“善”的“令”字实际是一个“本无其字”的假借字,其记录的词义确切地说是“形容人品貌、名望等的美好,或由此引申为对人的敬称或对事物的美称,形容词。”同时,文章还辨析了可以训作“善”的“令”“霝”“灵”“良”几个字之间的关系。
“Order” in “The Analects of Confucius” is usually trained as “good”, but there is no consensus in academia about the source of the word “Order”. On the basis of studying the etymology of “Order” in the traditional Exegesis and combining with the practice of pre-Qin language, this paper argues that the word “Order”, which is trained as “good”, is actually a borrowed word of “without word” The recorded meaning of the word is exactly “to describe the beauty of human appearance, fame, etc., or to be extended to the respect of human beings or the reputation of things, adjectives.” At the same time, the article also analyzes the “good” Order “” 霝 “” Spirit “” good "the relationship between the words.
