事件特别是重大事件做为国际旅游目的地旅游资源的重要组成部分,近年来受到世界各国的高度关注。自20世纪80年代以来,欧美等发达国家就已经加强了对各种事件的科学管理与市场运作,并将事件演变成推动城市及城市旅游发展的重要动力。在我国,随着昆明世园会、北京奥运会、上海世博会、西安世园会等一些列重大事件的相继举行,以及后事件旅游的持续开发,事件特别是重大事件巨大的带动作用及持续的综合影响日益显现,并推动区域经济及旅游业快速发展,重大事件因其在地区经济发展中的地位及对旅游发展的巨大影响,已经成为社会各界关注的焦点。随着经济的快速发展和国际影响力的扩大,我国城市将会有更多的机会举办类似的大型的节事活动,如何利用这些事件来推动城市旅游发展成为重要的现实问题。
