潜孔钻机钻头和冲击器用花键和销连接,潜入孔底用以冲击、剪切破坏岩石(矿石),穿凿深孔,是潜孔钻机钻具的重要组成部分。我矿潜孔钻机原使用四翼超前刃钻头。由于超前刃部分经常损坏,1973年后改用四翼钻头。钻头除镶4块硬质合金片外,中间平面镶有6个硬质合金柱。钻头长218毫米,直径170毫米,磨损后小于162毫米应报废。钻尾直径82毫米,重量13～16公斤,在f=8～14的岩(矿)石上穿孔,1972年每个钻头平均穿孔144.6米,1973年每个钻头平均穿孔130.8米。
